I'm Under Weight

He puts so much weight on each of my words that I'm pounded by his perceptions. We can't be friends anymore. I cannot be the man he hopes I am. I'm not good enough or strong enough to carry that weight. He can't see my wait; I waited for him to see. I needed a parallel. He needs my probity. I'll be his friend. But he won't be my friend.
