I've placed sort of a "best of" on Open Salon.
I wasn't fully aware of the depth of my talent until I posted on Open Salon.
I had over 130,000 hits in three months. I picked up work. I sold some books. I learned there's a difference between a blogger and a writer. I made a handful of friends. And I accomplished it without prostituting my prose, sacrificing my sack, or puckering up to the pseudonyms.
And because I didn't pander to the posers - I suffered the wrath of the nostril-flaring wannabes. Nothing feeds hatred like envy.
Yet I learned my prose packs power. My words stand. My proof is in the proportion of their reaction.
