They Don't Want You To Ask; They Don't Want To Tell

The news media and the blogosphere are trumpeting the news that the US Senate has voted to repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell.

I've written about the necessity of gay rights.

But, I don't understand the joy.

So in other words, there is one less impediment to forced military service for all US citizens.

Gay people can take the news as a step forward; I do too.

But I don't see it as a step toward equity; I see it as a step toward entirety.

The War On Terror needs more soldiers.

Now the Pentagon has more soldiers.

You want equity and acceptance? Let gay people have equity in marital laws.

The right to serve one's country indeed; it will serve its purpose alright.
