Publicly Displayed

I saw a photograph of Jacqueline Kennedy online this morning. It was a photograph taken at President Kennedy’s funeral. A veil covered her face; desolation shone through the sheer. It sums up exactly what's wrong with contemporary society. We feel we own everything. We feel we have the right to everything. She didn't owe us her grief. The photographer didn't have the right to steal her sorrow.
