You know, society burdens women with a lot of tasks. Traditionally women are the caregivers at the end of our journeys. I know one man who assumed the role of caregiver for his father. We’ve talked about it. There’s little support for a man trying to be the son his parents deserve. I’ve taken more than anyone’s share of belittling for my choice. Anyway. I feel admiration for those who rise to their occasions. I have a new appreciation for the women who step into the place men refuse to stand.
